If you are new to the sport please do not buy equipment before the course.  Should you choose to join the club after the coarse you will be able to use the club equipment whilst you continue to develop and get advice from the coaches about the most suitable equipment to consider.

2021's Big Weekend will be bigger and better than ever, with a whole week - not just the weekend - of events planned at clubs and other places, up and down the nation.  The fun will  begin on 8 May, culminating in the Big Weekend from 14-16 May, when AGB will be calling on clubs to welcome newcomers and get more people into archery.  The Big Weekend is a great way to sign people up to beginner's courses and grow the archery community.

To help please note that undertaking a beginners course here does not mean you have to become a member here though we would gladly welcome you.  It is a pre-requisite however to complete a course before being able to join an AGB club as a member and be able to shoot independently. We would be only too pleased to recommend a club local to you and advise their current status in terms of membership and shooting availability should you need advice and further guidance.

The Big Weekend is eight years in 2020.  Started for the Games in London 2012, an estimated 45,354 people have now been introduced to archery at a Big Weekend event over the past few years!  This National weekend of archery is about celebrating and raising the profile of our great sport, at welcoming and friendly fun-day style events.  

Archery Big Weekend Clubs and organisations are once again invited to throw open their doors and welcome members of the public to try archery at fun and friendly events.  Tamar Valley Archers waits to welcome you.
